Sterilization:
-
At Far East Dental, the protection of our patients, staff, and
doctors is our number one priority. We always use face masks,
gloves, eyewear and coats in order to prevent the spread of germs.
Once sterilized, instruments are kept in sealed packages until
they are used on the next patient.
- Our sterilization
department follows the mandatory recommendations of the American
Dental Association and utilizes two different types of sterilization
machines -- ultra high dry heat and ultra high steam heat -- to
sterilize all the hand and oral instruments used. The ultra high
temperatures destroy all viruses and bacteria. After use, the
instruments are scrubbed and/or rinsed and put into an ultrasonic
cleaning sink; they are then dried and checked. Next they are
packaged (as needed) and sent through one of our two different
types of sterilizers. The instruments are kept packaged until
they are needed for the next patient.
-
Each machine is tested routinely by professional engineer
and checked at each cycle. In addition, all sterilization bags
change color when sterilization is achieved. Every room is regularly
disinfected between patients' appointments
